Welcome to the information page for The Nerdfighter Note Project 2012!

Q- “What the heck is that?”

A- Well, The Nerdfighter Note Project 2012 is an event where Nerdfighters around the world join forces on one day to spread the awesome a little by leaving nerdfighter notes for other people to find!

The idea is to leave them everywhere. Not just John’s books, but places related to Nerdfighteria, or  anywhere else that people can see and experience the awesome.

Q- Sounds neat, when is this happening?

A- May 6th 2012 is the date we’ve chosen, for a million AWESOME reasons. For example, in Paper Towns, May 6th is the date on which Margo and Quentin do their late night pranks and other escapades. Also, it is the day after Hanko de Mayo, making that weekend a real Nerdfightastic weekend! Plenty of nerdfighters have also told us that this day holds special meaning to them, making this date even better!

Please note: YOU DO NOT HAVE TO LIMIT YOURSELF TO MAY 6TH FOR NOTE SPREADING! We’ve set up this date merely as a day for people to connect as nerdfighters on one day!

Q- Okay, awesome! But how do I get involved?

A - Like we mentioned above, leaving nerdfightastic notes is an awesome way to spend the day. We also suggest taking pictures/videos of your nerdfighter adventures on this day, to add a level of connectedness to this day. Post these on youtube, tumblr, what have you later, to increase the awesome!
 

Q - I have a cool idea for this day that I want you guys to see! How do I let you know?

A- Message us, tweet us (@NFNP), submit something… WE LOVE input!

Q- What do I write on these notes?

A- We suggest scrolling through our blog, checking out examples of simple notes. We’ve also heard from some people that might want to make templates for notes. We’ll be releasing templates and other good stuff as time goes on, so watch out for that!

Q- How can I help?

Spread the word. Getting the word out is what we are currently trying to do! We want as many nerdfighters as possible in on this event! Tell your friends! Tweet, reblog, send carrier pigeons, make smoke signals, and do whatever it takes to spread that awesome!

We don’t have many, but we DO have some rules for Nerdfighter Note Day.

1. Show respect for shopkeepers, librarians, what have you. They work hard, and don’t need a bunch of people messing with their work. Don’t be tearing through the shops/libraries!  Just show basic respect, and it should all be good!

2. NO DAMAGING PROPERTY! For example, don’t go doing graffiti. Keep it simple and, you know, legal.

3. DFTBA! ( Forgetting to be awesome has terrifying side effects, and I do not recommend it)

IN GENERAL : Be respectful of public property, laws, and the wishes of business owners.
